I had an ok run with my gen 4 Tablo. It was pretty good when it worked. The problem is, it has been very unreliable. OTA will not play. I cannot rescan. I cannot reset. I’m stuck. Honestly. I get the value proposition of having a dvr , channel guide and integrated internet channels but, it’s just frustrating that i’m spending my time trying to fix problems instead of watching tv.
Good luck to everyone with the patience to stick with it. It really would be great to have a viable cable alternative that doesn’t cost a small fortune.

The Legacy Tablo were kind of buggy in the beginning too. Maybe you should shove it in a box and check back later?
Heck I brought the Tablo 4th G over 2 years ago. I felt like I was a beta tester for sure. The little burps are nothing IMHO for tech. I don’t know if there ever will be true plug-in and play.
Homerun HD has issues to and I keep saying we all have to pick our own poison and live with it. Knock on wood here but I haven’t had a recording fail for a long time now. Wish guide was better and yes still want manual recording option by time slot but it is what it is. For the sale price I got on the 2-tuner unit I have come to live with its quirks.
I thought the Zapperbox might be in my future but not for the price point.
