Weeks after the software issues and channel issues came up they are still not resolved.
I have worked through every “solution” provided here, by support, over the phone, etc.
Guide is not displaying correct channel lineup info, or no info at all (I only have 10 channels selected).
New channels pop up randomly or removed channels come back.
Why are you happy to provide new channels when you can’t get the old ones to work?
I’m ready to start demanding refunds or payment for my time in being a test subject.
I understand that sh*t happens, but come on…
If these issues don’t get fixed soon, I see a class action coming.
Hello @DBarajas. I don’t remember seeing your specific issues about your guide data. Would you mind including your list of Guide-related issues or link to where they’re described in the forum?
Well, now I’m having an issue updating my Guide too. I just removed 4-5 FAST channels and clicked Save and Continue and it’s taking a few lifetimes (in computer time) to save. I’m on my 2nd try to get the Guide updated because it didn’t quite work the first time.
I believe this is why a browser app would come in handy - I would hope it would (should) remove many of the problems we see with a device-specific Tablo app when doing configuration.
Okay, so the Guide finished updating 4-5 minutes later so I go back in to look, and the channels are still selected. No error, no update, nothing.
I wonder if we just need to submit a support request for this.
Would you consider reaching out to again? If you do, please DM us the email you used to contact support and the ticket number you received. We’ll tag them accordingly.
It took 2 tries on the new roku release. On the previous version of the roku app you could just de-select them and save and they would disappear. This time I had to rescan and de-select and save 2 times before they disappeared.
Of course if tablo would stop auto adding FAST channels and adding their golden channels at the live tv grid without a rescan I wouldn’t have to be spending time removing them.
So ultimately the “fix” was to change zip code.. ??
Which doesn’t make any sense, since it worked fine before the major software snafu
and I’m in a major metropolitan area and all the zip codes get the same feeds??
FWIW the Tablo guide works as well as it needs to to meet my modest needs.
Kind of like free email, it’s klutzy sometimes and I would like more or different features, but it does what I need and it’s free.
In a nothing better to do moment the other day I compared what’s in the tablo OTA guide compoared to several free OTA guides available online. The others left out a couple of channels that I use on tablo, and were wrong for sports events being broadcast that day, but which tablo listed correctly.
So tablo is good’nuff 4 me. I don’t think there is better available at the same price point. I’m not a power user. If OTA goes to paywall DRM, I’m outa’ there and will find a free alternative, (and there will be one).
Welcome to the community. Sorry you’re having this issue. I’m not familiar with a solution for it - have you submitted a support ticket? If so, you might want to DM @TabloTV the ticket number, if you have one.
Click on their username and the Message button will be in the upper right-hand corner.
Right now, the entire thing is useless. Guide data wasn’t loaded; pushed the update now button, no progress, so unplugged, counted 30, plugged in, now get “Your tablo is offline”, while it’s blue light blinks. Can only assume the servers are offline again.
No. I’m not opening any f’ing ticket. Just a post to serve as a warning to others to avoid buying this bug ridden pile of garbage.
I’m reading this whole thread and I’m befuddled. My wife and I watch the news, inside edition, Wheel of Fortune, and flip through the locals last night without issues. We used the guide, we’re not that old where we use “flip channels” lol.
Ditto @KimchiGUN - when we have guide issues (which isn’t very often) they typically resolve after a few hours/next day. The OP describes what sounds like the addition/removal of channels from the guide, which causes navigation issues/headaches on their side. I’m not seeing these issues unless Tablo adds FAST channels which are enabled by default. I just go turn them off because, most of the time, they just don’t work for us.
I am another user that has had very few problems with my Gen4 Tablo and that includes the guide. I do not doubt those that say that they are having trouble. I know that Gracenote can be hit or miss. I live in one of the largest markets in the US, and it makes sense that they would put more effort into the larger markets.
Glad to hear the Tablo is working on a solution. Now, if I only they would put back a library view that displays only shows with available recordings…
I would be happy if the gen 4 guide, not the Live TV grid, matched the actual guide shipped to the device. The fire tv stick has been messed up from around 6-8 months. The Roku version 0.9 matched the guide on the legacy. But after roku version 1.0 it’s exactly as messed up as the Fire TV stick. Makes you wonder if tablo is using AI as part of app development. Of course if you want to wander around the Live TV grid you can find the programing missing from the guide.
As for me I preferred to turn the gen 4 off and use a spare legacy until the next app release to see if things get better.
