I recently made the mistake of holding the reset button down for too long this doing a factory reset. Over the period of three days I called tech support four times. Each time I spoke with a rep I could barely understand, but Kudos, they tried. They all seemed to be reading from a script and told me to do the same things. They seem not to be allowed to spend over 30 minutes on a call. I believe they block your number if you try to call again too soon. Last year I was able to talk with a native English speaker who had technical knowledge and was so helpful he got me going again. Is tech support now contracted offshore?
Hi Julian,
We never block numbers due to multiple calls.
Just in case, our support staff are sending you an email just to check up.
I resolved the issue by myself. I unplugged the Tablo cable from our TV, moved it to a different socket and opened Tablo. My Tablo is now performing perfectly.
I received a couple of emails from Tablo after posting about my frustration with their telephone technical support. You can see one of them responding to my post, above. Tablo has told me they do not ration telephone support and that is, no doubt, their policy. However, I did have one lady from Tablo tell me we had been talking for 20 minutes and she was unable to help me further. On a different day I attempted to call support a second time and my iPhone was unable to complete the call. I remain unsure that the overseas support folks are in complete compliance with corporate policy. I appreciate support’s efforts to help me. Talking to an 84 YOA man who is clueless about IT must be frustrating.
It is not, rather, it’s an honor…
Speaking as a man who helps his 79 year old mother with technical issues.
