Tablo will not work with my 2018 Samsung TV with Chromecast

Tried multiple times with different 4th gen Tablos. Refreshed Tablo app on Chromecast, rebooted Tablo. Will not work.

Just a couple of questions…

Were you able to set up your Tablo using your smartphone? Are you able to watch Tablo on your smart phone?

Is your Tablo connected to your router via WiFi or Ethernet?

Is your streaming device connected to your network via WiFi or Ethernet?

Do you have more than one viewing station (TV with streaming device) in your home?

Was unable to complete set up via smart phone. cannot watch anything.

Tablo connected via wi-fi.

tv, tablo, smart phone all on same wi-fi network

only 1 tv.

Forgive me if I am pointing out the obvious, but you did download the correct app on your phone… the one for the Gen4 Tablo? The icon should look like this.

Tried install on three separate occasions. All fail. Final attempt, the tech support guy was amazing. Patient, knowledgeable and had the best knowledge base had a trick shutting off some app on my phone which enabled the install that then went smoothly. Went back to phone, turned on app. All done. Easy peasy. This fellow should be the boss.

Just out of curiosity, the trick he had, was it turning off mobile data? If not, what app did he have you disable?

Yup. turned off cc mobile data. First three techs evidently did not know this trick.
