Tablo will not work on a mesh wifi

I purchased a tablo unit from Amazon and tried installing it today. I kept coming up in VPN would not let me go any further. Called Tablo tech support told me Tablo can not be used on a mesh wifi. I use my fiber frontier router and have it directed to my EERO mesh for all my wifi devices. I do this to isolate my frontier network from house network. Its like having a firewall that hackers can’t get through.

I have a mesh system from Quantum Fiber and it works just fine.

Put the Tablo near one of the mesh satellites and plug a cable in to it.
Tablo will think it’s on ethernet instead of WIFI.

is your ip address the same on your quantum fiber modem as it is on your mess.
What I am running into is my frontier modem 192.168.1.1 and I have set my EERO mesh to 192.168.4._ to act as a fire wall.

It works great on my eero mesh system Pro 6E.

This is what I was gonna say… it seems like youre “double natted”

Frontier Modem Router, will need to go into Bridge Mode or change the subnet on the Frontier Modem Router.

When it comes to comparing firewalls between the ISP modem gateway and Eero… theyre probably really close in performance.

Where are you in the install process? What steps have you already done?

Is the blue light on the Tablo flashing fast, flashing slow or solid blue?

I have an all EERO system in my house, including several mesh nodes. Mine works just fine throughout the house.

Bad information from the rep.

Along with the other posters here, I had mine running on Google Nest Wi-Fi pro. Now it’s on TP-Link Deco. No issues with either.

At first, the 4th Gen Tablo had its own wifi issues. So maybe set it up with ethernet, and get the firmware updates. Then it should be fine

I’m on Frontier mesh and no problems connecting. Doesn’t seem to solve the Guide problem, but that is for another thread

My Tablo is connected with Ethernet. Its 1 foot from router. The Tablo is strong enough to operate from outside patio. You don’t have to be right next to it to program and record. I program from 20 ft away thru outside wall using cell phone and playback is in HD.
