The tablo connected and antenna list came up. Then we installed the app on the LG tv for tablo and now it wont see the tablo. Removed app from tv. Rebooted tv. Still doesnt see the tablo. Works fine on my phone but i didnt buy it for my phone. How do i get this to work before i return it? Thank you. Pat
I’m not sure if LG still has the old Tablo app in the store but make sure the app you are downloading has the dark blue background with white TABLO. The white background and blue letters is the old app and will not work with the Gen 4.
What LG TV do you own? It does have to be fairly recent for it to work: The 4th generation Tablo app for LG smart TVs is supported on LG TV models manufactured in 2019 or newer running webOS 4.5+.
The tablo and the TV need to be on the same home network. No guest network. No router settings that prevent devices on your home network from talking to each other.
To test connectivity, use the browser app on the TV and browse to tablotv.com/my-status
. You should get a page showing the URL of your tablo, among other things. Use the browser on the TV again to browse to the URL of your tablo. You should get a message from the tablo.
Well, it worked when we set it up with no tv app. And the LG app is a white background so we removed it. There is no option on my LG for any other Tablo app. My LG TV is only about 5 years old, so 2021-ish. So it should be new enough. There’s no “guest” network at all. Only my main network. I will check out the my-status site and see how that goes. It’s not like I can’t do electronics. Had a home computer since 1978 and built that myself, so… you’d think this would be easy LOL. Great idea but …
Hi @alley_pat,
If you haven’t already it may be a good idea to check the model year, just in case. If it turns out the LG was manufactured in 2018 or earlier, you’d need to attach a compatible streaming device to make it work.
