Tablo support lies

It does…

  1. your guide shows you what’s currently recording.
  2. if you click on a channel and one isn’t available, it will give you that error message
  3. if you try to scan it will give you the error message if one’s not free

What are you suggesting in the way of “tell(ing you) how many tuners are in use”?

I agree with 26587. I don’t think anymore needs to be done to tell you you have 2 tuners and they are in use. You should not need any other messages! Just ties up code and makes for more issues.

I’ve always said a small “today’s recordings” type grid/chart would be helpful, but this is a little different. If @hammamis has an idea of what this would look like, where it would show up, or how it’s needed, I’m curious.

I’m new to 4th gen.
An error message like Failed to Schedule did not help me.

That’s what we all get… All we can figure out is that OTA goals are signal loss, FAST are??? We don’t know why.

Which type of recordings are causing these for you? Any specific channels?

A few FAST stations seem to have this issue all the time.

I think you mean it processes the recording to generate the thumbnails.

A user asked months ago… Why doesn’t it just take a screen grab every ten seconds, wouldn’t that be easier?

It really doesn’t take very long to get the thumbnails regardless. Five minute and I’m usually set. That is, IF it did them. I’ve had some that never showed up, even weeks later.

The thumbnails on the fourth Gen come 60 to an image and are in HD and SD quality.

I don’t believe it plays it immediately. I think it waits for a free tuner. So it depends on what you have scheduled to record

HD:

SD:

(they were originally named like HD_01 and SD_01 or something similar, these are from over a week ago)

If you are watching or recording,4 shows then no tuner to scan. The outsourced “tech support” needs to be educated.

I like in my legacy 2 tuner the Scheduled:
All
Coming Soon
They show conflicts and timed.

What made you decide to buy a fourth Gen?

My three years old legacy Tablo stopped coming up on my Hisense Roku TV.
The problem just came clear after two days.
