Tablo Gen 4 has no programming data after Apr 28 to May 1

Still having problems also.
Starting the evening of April 29 with 2 channels, every day more and more channels drop off.
When I try to update the guide, it will suddenly quit, but never at the same time

The guide data problem still has not been fixed for me. For May 30 data, I start seeing “Programming data not available” for some channels. As I look farther into the future more and more channel data is missing.

I submitted a trouble ticket, and got an automatic bot response saying try different zip codes near where I live. I had already tried that and it made no difference.

Tomorrow I will try to contact Tablo phone support.

I contacted Support about this one or two days ago and they said their Guide provider service isn’t making the updates. Short of finding a viable subscription Guide service, it doesn’t sound like they’re going to do much about it.

Mine had similar issue, with Roku express, but it was blank channel guide, no matter reboots, forced reload of channel guide, etc. And ONLY on my Roku express, the guide was fine on mobile. Finally, I reooted Roku and Roku said, “Applying final updates.” After that, it ran fine, and guide showed up fine. Hope this might help some others.

Thanks for the update.

Well, this is greatly worrisome…

If that were true, then the legacy would be having the same problem. My legacy has 12-13 days of programming. Same as it’s been for years. (besides the usual problems with low powered stations and channels that change from one station to another. i.e., Cozitv to Grit or whatever)

As shown below…“our guide data provider is currently unable to add schedule data for certain missing channels.”

I don’t have a gen 4, but my legacy Tablos had the same guide issue up a couple days ago.

It’s entirely likely that Tablo uses a different service for both the OG Legacy and Gen4 devices. I just checked, and my OG Legacy shows all the guide programming out to at least May 5th. I didn’t check further out than that. Whereas my Gen4 starts to get thin around April 30th/May 1st and only gets worse afterward.

To clarify, there are two different guide data issues with 4th generation Tablo devices being discussed here:

  • Channels where guide data is present for today and the near future, but missing further out in the guide
  • Channels where no programming data is ever available

For Channels Where Guide Data Is Usually Present

Every night, your Tablo will reach out to our servers and download the next available day of TV data for every channel to ensure the live TV grid is full.

Before that data gets downloaded to your Tablo, it must first be processed by our servers. A recent change caused a backup in that process. While the source of the issue has since been resolved, we are still working through the backlog.

As this work continues, data will slowly fill in over the coming days without any action on your part.

We will continue to provide guide data for these channels on 4th generation Tablo devices.

For channels where data is usually present, if you are missing data for dates in APRIL, please contact us with the following details:

  • Which specific channels are affected (callsign/channel number)
  • The compatible device you are using (Roku, Fire TV, iPhone, etc.)
  • If you have multiple types of compatible devices, if the same amount of data is missing on each (are you missing more days on Fire TV than on your Roku)

For Channels Where No Programming Data Is Available

There are some channels where programming is not and has never been available.

This is totally unrelated to the server backlog previously discussed.

As of last year, our guide data provider no longer accepts requests to add or update data. As such, we have been working on tools to resolve these issues ourselves.

We hope to share more information on those efforts in the coming months.

My guide data mostly filled in last night. After 9 days in the future there are some gaps in the data. However the guide is usable as it is.

Tablo has fixed the Guide issue on my device. I now haw the regular program guide out 2 weeks like before. Thank you @Tablo for getting this done quickly.

I still have one channel (Cozitv 12.2) not showing program data in Portland Oregon starting 10am April 30.
Others starting May 5th.
I filed a ticket and got the automated reply to change to a new zip code.

Hi @papagnome

Sorry to hear that.

Would you let us know what device you’re using? If you’re using more than one kind, does this problem show up on all of them?

I have a Chromecast OS 12.0 App 1.7, ONN 4k OS 12 App 1.7,and a Roku Ultra 2023 OS 14.5.4 App 1.0.1
They all have the same problem,

I am using the 4th generation Tablo and I did a scan yesterday and all the channels from 9:00 to 16 were missing or were really weak signals yellow or red. I did several scans with the same results. Then I did a scan that showed the top 9 through 16 perfectly and the bottom and all the streaming channels were missing.

I’m not going to say everything I tried but what actually worked was a simple uninstall and reinstall of the tableau app on my phone. It might be worth trying cuz it’s a quick fix if it works for you and you have the same problem.
