Last night CBS aired a repeat of the new season opener of NCIS which I had already recorded and saved. To my surprise it went ahead and recorded a 2nd copy. Original recording was protected which I am guessing was why it did it. Also do not record duplicates was checked in settings…interesting.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve protected a recording, but if Tablo detects that the recording wasn’t ‘clean’ (for example it started late or ended early) it will record a ‘duplicate’ hoping for a cleaner version.
While I’m happy the Tablo records a cleaner version, which looks like a duplicate to me, I would love to see a visual tag identifying a recording’s clean status.
