Tablo Dual HDMI ATSC 3.0 Reference In Latest Cordkillers Episode

Interesting information from the latest Cordkillers podcast episode (449 - Wasting Away Again in Vertigo)…

Seems like the information is not correct @TabloSupport, or there are things coming up that you haven’t yet announced so just wanted to give you a heads up as to information that is out there.

At 21 minutes into the episode they start talking about a Tablo Dual HDMI that is ATSC 3.0-compatible. I think all I’ve ever read about (and know it has been delayed) is a Quad model. From the notes under the video…

  • EW Scripps bought Nuvyyo in January 2022 to offer an ATSC 3.0-compatible DVR called the Tablo Dual HDMI
  • The Tablo Dual HDMI lets you watch and record over-the-air broadcasts, as well as stream from popular apps like Netflix and Hulu
  • The Tablo Dual HDMI costs $249.99 and is available now from retailers like Amazon and Best Buy"

There is definitely some misinformation on that broadcast. There is a Tablo Dual HDMI, but it isn’t ATSC 3.0 compatible. It is just the TV connected Tablo that has been around for a few years.

Tablos also don’t stream other apps.

The Tablo that was announced last year (and has been delayed indefinitely) is the Tablo ATSC 3.0 QUAD HDMI.

Yeah, seemed like a mishmash of incorrect information because The Verge article they referenced definitely doesn’t say some of that stuff.

Thanks for letting us know. We’ll reach out to Brian and Tom.
