Tablo Connect Manual Configuration of Router

I just purchased and installed my first Tablo. Everything is working correcting, but I’m trying to set up Tablo Connect for remote access. I’m getting the message that my router requires manual configuration.

I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 modem with a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router connected to Comcast internet. Can someone help me configure my modem and/or router correctly for this to work? I’ve searched the Tablo community and Google, but my initial attempts to troubleshoot have failed.

On your router, the Netgear, what is the WAN IP? Is it an external IP or an internal IP?

Internal IPs start with 192., 10., or 172.

If your modem is not in bridge mode, you could be having problems due to Double NAT. See the links below for an explanation.

Assuming you are in some sort of bridge mode, I would just turn off UPnP on the Nighthawk and then turn it back on. Then turn on remote access on the Tablo. That works well for me.
