Tablo app on Samsung tv

Samsung model QN75Q8TAFXZA is my TV and am using Tablo 4th gen. I downloaded the newly Tablo app on my TV but it doesn’t work the same as the tvs I use with the fire stick. Let me explain…
With the fire stick, I can navigate through the Tablo menus without clicking enter/ok. With the Samsung, when I go to the library tab, I have to click on scheduled, latest and all recordings.
And here’s the one I’d like fixed. When I’m playing a recording with the fire stick app, I get thumbnails when I fast forward or rewind on a recording. With the Samsung app, all I get is still pics when I fast forward or rewind. I would like to know if this happens with anyone else. I tried the support team and it looks like they’re stumped. To me it looks like the Samsung software is the problem and not the Tablo. Also read where the tv model has to be 2019-2024 which it is. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

What response did you get any response from the support team? I just requested help with the same issues running (WiFi) a Tablo 4th Generation/4 tuner with a new (2024) Samsung Smart TV.
Reaching out to Samsung, seeing what they have to say is probably worth a shot.
As you, I’m pleased with the thumbnails when forwarding / rewinding on my older TVs using Roku Streaming Stick 4K. Hope we find a fix, the new TV is my primary.

I’m doing emails back and forth with the support team. Last thing they asked me for were videos showing the performance of the Tablo with the Samsung app. I hope they see this and realize there’s nothing wrong with the Tablo and it’s the software for Samsung that’s the problem. They said it only works on Samsung TVs made from 2019-24 and mine is a 2020 tv. Does anybody else have this problem with the Samsung tv app? Here are the videos I sent them.

I keep going around in circles with the support team. They tell me they’ll get back to me, then they close out the ticket. I just gave up and use my firestick for the Tablo.

Support sent me a request, run a check on my network to see if that contributes to the issue… It’s an issue between Tablo and Samsung, hopefully it’ll get fixed sooner than later. Currently it’s a tolerable inconvenience, using Tablo rather than Comcast saves me $1,400 annually. Do wish they would sort out the closed captioning issue, really important to me as I have some hearing deficiency. Your right, if they can’t figure it out there’s always the stick option…

I reached out to tablo yesterday and asked if/when will they improve the FF o the Samsung Tablo App. I experience the same as you do…I do have a fire stick on my bedroom Samsung and FF is great with thumbnails… I received the response in 15 seconds from tablo support,

“Thank you for reaching out. I understand your frustration with the fast-forward capabilities on the Samsung Tablo app. Unfortunately, the current app does not support fast-forward previews with thumbnails like the Amazon Firestick. We are always working on improving our apps, and your feedback is valuable to us. For now, you might find the Amazon Firestick to be a better option for watching recordings.”
