Tablo App for LG webOS Smart TVs (4th Gen) Update (v. 1.6.5)

Hi folks -

An update for the 4th generation Tablo app for LG webOS smart TVs is rolling out now.

The app should update automatically in the coming days if you have enabled auto-updates on your television.

If you have not enabled auto updates, you will see a prompt to update or you can select the Tablo app and then select the UPDATE button to get the latest version when it is available for your television.

Here’s what you can expect:

Tablo App for LG webOS Smart TVs (4th Gen) Update (v. 1.6.5 - Build C950B2)

  • Fix for fast-forward and rewind functions during playback of live OTA TV
  • Fix for rare issue where Live TV screen clock could display the wrong time

About This Release
Please note that during live TV playback, it can take approximately 60 seconds before the ability to fast-forward and rewind is available as the app works to build a buffer of video.

I updated yesterday and my app version shows C950B2. I have an LG C9. I’m still not able to ff or rewind live TV. The bar just keeps moving like before.

For anyone else having this issue, you have to be watching the channel for a couple of minutes before the bar to rew/ff starts working. You can pause right away, but the bar will keep moving back and forth until you’ve been watching long enough. I don’t have this issue on my iOS and Android device.

Hi @Russell_Rogers ,

We do cover that behavior in the release notes above.

As always, the update works great… for about a week. Then back to the same old, same old: SBBOD (spinning blue balls of death), can’t connect, this is taking too long, reset your Tablo, etc., etc. Happens every update. Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Hi @tandelor ,

Sorry you’re running into this.

Would you clarify where you’re running into the spinner? Is it in the Library, Live Grid, etc?

Library, Live Grid, and Home. If I run another app for about an hour and come back to it, mostly it will be OK. If I force it to keep trying it will eventually tell me to reboot the Tablo and reconnect.
