Why does my Apple TV remote app display 10 sec rewind and 10 sec forward buttons on most apps, but doesn’t display them when watching Tablo? Is it Tablo working with stations to make it less easy for consumers to fast forward commercials when they’re using Tablo or just something else, completely unrelated? I tend to use the digital app and the 10 second buttons pretty frequently since I find them a lot easier to use than scrubbing with the clickpad. Thanks.
Could it be because of all the hoops that tablo has to go through to get MPEG2 to play on a device that doesn’t support MPEG2.

OTA ATSC 1.0 is MPEG2. AppleTV doesn’t support MPEG2. Some magic has to happen to get it to play on AppleTV. Maybe that prevents this feature or this feature will be delayed into there is time to make it work.
Are the apps where the 10sec FFW/REW buttons feature live or recorded content? You won’t get those on live content (maybe the REW, but not the FFW).

Live and recorded. Even YouTube displays the two buttons. In fact, Im having a tough time recalling any other platform which doesn’t give me access to those two buttons.
I never liked using phone apps as have to sit with my phone open or having to unlock it for everything. I use mine to enter passwords and things like that though. The remote only allows what the app does, why it differs on some apps.
Also looks like you might not have the newest app or older iPhone maybe as mine does have the arrow keys and they do skip. 16 Pro Max.
Thanks, my iPhone 15 and iPad Air M2 are both “newish” models, software is up-to-date, (both running Public beta of OS 26)
As for the directional buttons, I’ve turned them off (which you can do in Settings/Accessibility). I find them to be as cumbersome to use as scrubbing on the clickpad. I find the 10 sec buttons easier to use.

@zippy is correct that the MPEG2 content presents challenges due to not being able to play natively on the Apple TV, so that presents some extra hurdles.
As far as the skipping feature, if you were to re-enable the arrows, the left and right directional arrows function to do that exact 10 second jump both ways when tapped.
Thanks, direction arrows arent ideal, but if that’s the only solution so be it. Thank you..
