I have in the last day or so started experiencing an audio delay (sync issue). I also have a legacy Tablo 4-tuner that doesn’t have this issue with the same recording. I verified my FireTV app version is this new 1.7 release, and can only wonder if this issue is related. Note I verified the audio sync calibration for my Fire Stick 4K Max is still accurate.
This software release fixed the biggest issue that I had with the Tablo: the program guide. Scrolling up and down through the program guide is vastly better! Much faster and smoother. I no longer see “Programming not available” while scrolling!
Thanks!
Edit: The first time that I switched from “All Channels” to “Favorites”, all of the favorite channels displayed “Programming not available”, however I was unable to duplicate this on subsequent tries.
I like the last channel button. It would really be great if you could pause one channel and watch another channel. Now when you pause one channel it pauses the last channel and it also starts playing both channels when starting either channel. I can control each tuner on my Tivo. I know that Tablo will never have the functions of Tivo but the Last Channel Button is a step in the right direction.
iam quite impressed how much tablo has listened to the feedback of the users here and fixed and included what were real time issues thanks tablo. Not all companies are this good at support
My wife is the main user of our 4th gen. Probably about 95% of the time. We are using onn 4k pros. There have been a few bugs along the way but I have not heard a complaint in months. She has no problems with the remotes buttons FF, pause, play, etc. The only thing that fails are a few channels that can be majorly affected when the atmosphere does stupid things. That happens on the 4th gen, our legacy Tablo and any of our TV’s tuners pretty equally.
Just installed a Fire TV stick. All works very well except for one thing: my wife is a Blue Bloods fan, wants to save all 300 episodes. Right now, have 280. The problem is the display; Rows for a season are not loaded properly, an error message appears to ‘retry’ load, when we finally start a program, all is well, till it ends - the app somehow ‘locks up’ the Tablo, making it inaccessable on iphone or other devices for about 5 minutes. Please advise where to report the bug. It happens with ONN Google app, does not happen with Roku or iPhone.
Just installed the new Tablo app on my latest Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet. Was excited to get this as I have not been able to get the video to work, just a black screen. I have other devices iPad, firestick, smart TV’s with no issues. I have latest Tablo 4 tuner, direct wired just no video. After no improvement I also uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that would help.
Works great, thanks for the software update. It was several frustrating weeks while the guide was slow and crashed often, but now it’s back to the original fast state. I use 10 Firesticks in my house of all different vintages, all had the same issues before the update. The last channel button is great too.
Good additions. However, app still not as stable as legacy app/tuner hw. This new 1.7 version I’ve had an issue where the app will not come up/load at times. Generally after tuning a channel with not great reception and it fails. Pressing back button, will eventually get the “exit app” pop-up on right side of the screen in order to exit. I tried force stopping the app/clear cache, but only thing to get it working again is to reload my fire tv stick (gen 3) itself. Did not see this in 1.6.
Explain why the sports menu featured sport doesn’t have MLB but has NFL. Or why the “all sports” menu has only 1 MLB game when there should be 2. Of why there is only 1 NBA game when there should be 3. Or why the movie "national velvet: is considered “sports”
I think it boils down to metadata/tags on the shows, or lack thereof. It could be reading the title National Velvet and interpreting it as a National Championship. Just sayin’.
let’s try to be more obvious. First this problem doesn’t exist on the legacy apps. This problem was introduced into the previous version of the fire stick app. It didn’t exist in the roku app version 0.9. But now does in the roku app version 1.0. And now the roku app is as screwed up as the fire stick app.
An issue saving a single episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”. It saves the previous older one instead, and displays the correct new date/time stamp in the old recording. I let this continue for April, and it continued to save the very first recording and delete the new one. Note the show bridges from 11:30 PM to 12:30 PM (across dates). This same behavior is seen with “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, which also bridges into the next day. I’m going to try saving 3 episodes to see if this is a work-around.
This probably doesn’t help you much, but I have a Fire Stick 4k Max and I record Stephen Colbert every day (using series recording). I have never had any problem like you describe. All of the shows record properly.
