despite tech reps insisting that it’s our smart tvs app cache that causes the tablo tv 4th gen to crash after shortly installing , it’s the fact that Tablo is a Android based OS , and cannot decode MPEG 2 apps and codecs reliably , therefore the tablo tv app works fine on a Samsung smart phone or my Samsung tablet , but when installed across several different tvs i have , the tablo app fails every time . i was told that the latest firmware upgrade would fix the issue , it did not . i uninstalled the tablo app , reinstalled it , rebooted my router , put app on same network connection , still the same crashes . so, i can only reliably watch tablo shows on my smart phone . if you have a tv that the tablo app will not crash on , let us all know the brand and model so we can spend more to fix this issue !
It works fine on my Sony Bravia TV as well as my ONN 4k pro. Pick up an onn 4K Plus at Walmart and you should be good.
We’d like to take a deeper look. Would you DM us your email address or ticket number?
I have Onn 4K pro, Google 4K streamer and Google TV with chromecast. Every single one of them constantly crashes on the same recordings on both of my Tablo 4’s. Nothing I do makes it any better (and I have tried everything). My Roku TV can usually play them with some bugs. If I could find a decent alternative to Tablo, I would throw my two units in the trash with a smile on my face.
Please throw them in my garbage can!
My Tablo 4th gen started crashing when my stored episodes increased. If I have over 150 episodes in a program it will crash almost every time I attempt to play one using my onn 4k pro or Sony Bravia.
It does work good with few recordings.
I think you are on to something there. May want to get a Roku streamer (not all models work) as I have had better luck with that. Still not without bugs.
I originally thought I had a similar problem, thought it might’ve had something to do with the indexing of the recordings in the file system.
I was experiencing what i’m calling crashes and disconnects.
My issues were resolved by enabling 5GHz radio on my Wi-Fi router. For the most part, it has been working flawlessly since then. I do receive an occasional playback error, not to be confused with a decode error. Once I receive the playback error, I need to power cycle the Tablo and then all works fine.
Btw, I have a 4th gen, 4 tuner with a 4TB western digital elements.
I have a Sony x90L tv and an LG B2 Oled using Tablo’s app on the tv. I do not have issues with either tv using Tablo. Knock on wood….
