Tablo 4th gen trouble after reset

After TABLO device reset, Tablo TV app on Apple TV (first and 3rd gens with latest tvOS) will not allow setup due to error “Setup failed. Your Tablo does not have a location configured.” Location services are turned on for the TV and iPhone apps. I am not able to get into the app on any device due to this endless cycle of error messages with nothing happening when “Try Again” is pressed. Restart of Apple TV or reset of Tablo device does not help. Latest firmware of Tablo TV installed (today) before Tablo reset. Firmware update had caused all local major stations (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, Fox) to no longer work on my Tablo Apple TV apps - “cannot decode” etc messages - despite strong signals (3-4 green dots).

Any help would be much appreciated. Has turned Tablo device into brick.

Wasn’t the last tablo firmware update 11 months ago - 2.2.54

Sorry you’re running into that @TheWay,

If you’ve factory reset your Tablo, you’ll need to open your mobile app and forget the device before re-adding it to your account.

How do you forget the device when you cannot get into the app? I am stalled at the “Setup Failed”.

Close and re-launch the app on your smartphone. You should be able to get there then.

If not, you can delete and re-add the app.

If you’re still having trouble, don’t hesitate to contact support directly: http://tablotv.com/support/#contact

Yes, I did all of that. Including contacting support and leaving a ticket with them. Meanwhile the device is bricked. Frustrating. Still wondering why it lost all major local TV stations just before all of the problems associated with the reset. It all seems to be related via a loss of recognition of location after the firmware update.

You’ve tried the app on both your Apple TV and your cellphone? Did you do a soft reset or a hard reset?

After removing apps on TV and phone, resetting login password online, then re-installing apps on the TV and phone with new credentials, the Tablo began behaving normally again, meaning that the app was finally installed correctly and I could then see the local stations. Anyone know why it lost the major stations after the firmware update? It was quite the ordeal to get the app back on track after that fiasco.

There hasn’t been a firmware update in months. You must be referring to the app update.
