Tablo 4th gen and Legacy Tablo Quad

I currently have (1) Tablo Legacy Quad with an internal 1 TB Hard drive and am running the latest TABLO Legacy Ver 2.2.60 software download on two networked Firesticks on Samsung TV’s.

My question is:

Can I install the Tablo 4th Gen app on my (2) Firesticks on Samsung Smart 4k TV’s and run both the Tablo Legacy app and the Tablo 4th Gen app at the same time from the same hard drive?

This would help when adding my programs that we follow on the 4th gen app if I can go back and forth from the Legacy app.

Thanks,

After installation of 2.2.60 the gen 4 app can see the legacy device but only access it if you also registered the legacy tablo unit.

you for your reply. That still does not answer whether I can use both apps to access 1 hard drive.

My understanding is that you can use each version individually but not simultaneously.

So use Gen4 for a while then close it and use the Legacy. Or vice versa.

You would not want to attempt to run both apps at the same time due to potential command conflicts.

Thanks for your help.

Hmm, I think you should be able to run the 4th gen app (I’m on a Roku), and then use the legacy app on my phone at the same time.

It’s a network device that provides service to whatever client requests it.

That’s my understanding, too. You just couldn’t use both apps on the same device at the same time. However, as @CarbonCompound said, you can use one or the other on the same device but not concurrently or at the same time.

To be clear…

You can run Gen4 app on e.g. Fire Stick 4k and at the precise same time you can use the Legacy app on your phone.

I understand the question to be running both apps on the single Fire Stick 4k at the same time. Probably could. Probably should not.

I was pointing out that two thumbs do not communicate intended consequences. So caveat emptor.

Tanks to everyone for your help on this.
