I had cause to get up at 4.00am last night (old age!) and noticed my Tablo 4G blue LED was off. I thought the device had died but turned on the TV and everything worked as it should. I checked the LED setting and it was “Dim” (as usual). I set it to bright and the LED came on and has been on since (5 hours). I wouldn’t worry otherwise but if the LED is going out, that would make future setups difficult, if not impossible (LED Blue, White? Flashing Slow/Fast? On/off?) .
I understand the Tablo undergoes guide updates/maintenance every nigh between 3.00am and 4.00am but the LED should be flashing during this process, not off altogether.
Anybody got any ideas what’s going on?
Hi @sktn77a,
In Maintenance Mode, your Tablo’s LED should flash slowly, once per second. It shouldn’t turn off.
It is strange that it turned off. Are you able to reset your LED back to dim?
Yes. It appeared to be working fine when I turned on the TV. I changed the LED to “On” (bright) and it turned on. This morning I turned it to “Dim” and it’s dim now (so as it should be).
I got it in October - have there been any changes in the most recent versions?
We did a double-check with the product team.
It turns out that, if the Tablo is set to Dim, the LED will turn off during maintenance mode. It should return to its normal dimmed but functional status after maintenance.
We’re updating the KB article we shared with you to account for this.
