I have a Tablo 4 hardwired to my router using the ethernet port. In a separate room, I have a Roku device which doesn’t have an ethernet port so it connects to the same router through WiFi. Using this setup, the Roku device is not able to find the Tablo on the network. It can only find it if I take the Tablo off ethernet and configure it to the same WiFi band and SSID as the Roku.
Why is that? Both devices are connecting to the same router so it shouldn’t matter if the Tablo is on ethernet or not. Is this a limitation of the Tablo device or a network configuration issue?
As a check, go into the Tablo and Roku settings, where you can find the IP address. Verify that the Tablo Ethernet is on the same subnet (192.168.1.xxx for example) as the Roku WiFi.
I checked and they both list an IP address starting with 192.168.50.xxx. The Roku also lists a gateway IP address. Does this need to be a specific address as well?
Also check to make sure the wireless SSID you are using is not a Guest wireless. These are usually set to not allow each device to talk to one another or devices on the wired side for security reasons.

@exwxman95’s advice on the guest network is solid. I suspect this may indeed be the issue.
If that doesn’t resolve the problem it may be a good idea to reach out to our technical support team: https://tablotv.com/support/#contact .
The Roku was in fact on a guest WiFi connection. Changing it to full access allowed it to find the hardwired Tablo. Thanks to everyone who replied.
