Surround - Headphones vs Speakers - Windows 10

Windows 10 - Tablo App

2.1 Speakers AND pair of headphones (two separate audio playback devices)

Surround enabled on Tablo settings

Surround works on headphones. Does NOT work on speakers. Technically both are Stereo… Unsure why headphones work and not speakers. No “virtual” surround enabled on headphones. Is there a setting I can use on the speakers to trick the Tablo into working? Really would love audio over Windows 10 Tablo app via the speakers (and my Pixel 6, but that’s another story).

It may help to explain your setup. For instance, I have a USB headset and a 2.1 speaker system using an optical cable. Both work with the Windows 10 app with surround sound (and both fail in Chrome, as expected).

Are your speakers plugged into the sound card/motherboard on your PC with one cable? What make and model of speakers are you using? Maybe someone here has the same and can test.

Fair enough. Headphones are using a very old Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro II DAC. Speakers go from Mobo optical to Fiio D03K DAC to Lepai LP-168HA Amp to a pair Dayton Audio B652-AIRs and a Polk PSW10 sub.
