I would to be able to start from the beginning when turning in to a live broadcast
Thanks

The Tablo only has either 2 or 4 tuners. How are they supposed to know what channel you are going to watch?
If you are planning to watch a show, set it to record then start watching when you want.
I know what you are talking about. TIVO had this feature; whatever channel (or channels if you had multiple tuners) you were tuned into that last time you used it would just continue to record into the buffer for up to about 90 minutes. It was kinda convenient. If you turned on the TV and and stayed on that channel you could back up to the beginning of that buffer.
Tablo is just a different kind of animal it doesn’t ‘stay tuned’ to channels when not in use. However, it is really easy to set up recurring recordings of the shows that you watch regularly. Mine is set up to record several local and national news broadcasts. If I happen to turn on my TV halfway through those broadcasts I can very easily start from the beginning while still recording.
Note: I believe there is a particular problem with Apple streaming devices starting from the begging of an in-process recording. I think all other streaming devices support it.
