Sound low and muffled when randomly selecting ota channels

New to Tablo and just installed 4th Gen 4 tuner. Using Ethernet and using full size seagate external hard drive.

Problem: Randomly when I select ota channels the audio is muffled and very low. If I back out of the channel and reselect the audio is there. I discovered that if I pause the live playback rewind the maybe 5 sec it has recorded then fast forward and hit play it will also come back. Is the device defective and I should return/ replace or is this a known bug?

Any advice would be appreciated.

It would help if you could share how you’re watching your Tablo. What type of device you are using can be key to figuring out a lot of issues.

For example, using a GoogleTV and it’s built-in OS with a downloaded app, or an X Brand TV and connected with a Roku. The more information you’re able to provide, the better others can help you. If it’s an STB, the model name and OS version can be very beneficial.

Ahh, good point. The app is installed on an Roku Ultra and feeds a Sony 4k Bravia tv.

Have you tried to adjusting the Audio Settings on the Roku?

Both Roku settings are set to auto. The issue may happen once maybe twice a day and only when switching to a different channel if that helps

I have a similar issue on only one of my TVs. It is the one that has the poorest wifi signal, but is a brand new Roku 4k. When I first select a channel (and sometimes when a start to play after a long pause) the volume is about 50% lower, but after a few seconds comes back up to normal. It doesn’t really bother me, so I just live with it.

Ive noticed this too on my Android TV apps. Whenever you fast forward or rewind, the sound doesnt resume with full clarity. pausing and unpausing then resets it back to normal.
