We’re ready to get back to beta testing updates for legacy Tablo devices. While all firmware and app updates go through quality assurance and internal alpha testing, our beta team’s real-world testing is indispensable.
To ensure our beta team includes a cross-section of active legacy Tablo users, watching content on a wide variety of devices, we are currently looking to add new members who own legacy Tablo devices to the beta team.
In exchange for early access to new features, Tablo beta team responsibilities and expectations include:
Install and use beta firmware and apps when they become available
Provide timely and specific feedback to us via the private Tablo Beta Community forum
Accept the inherent risks associated with testing new software
A few key details about this initiative:
It is mandatory to have an active Community Forum login (user name) to participate in the beta program as this is our primary method of gathering feedback
All users hoping to participate in future device-specific app betas must also be signed up as a Tablo firmware beta tester
If you’d like to join the legacy Tablo beta testing team, please fill out the form here:
Those currently participating in the beta group need not apply again.
Since legacy has been fairly stable for years, I can’t imagine any bug changes, especially app changes, beyond mpeg4 support that wouldn’t run the risk of destabilizing the product.
I fear the legacy roku app will morph into the legacy fire tv app - which is pure junk with pretty pictures. The original gen 4 fire tv stck app is a clone of the legacy version and then they changed the gen 4 roku app to be the same. I see more plex or maybe flex in my future.
I’m taking this as working towards having only one app.
Hope we won’t get hosed in the process.
I’ve been happy with mine for the most part.
Two things that irritate me are Getting kicked out of the app when finished watching a recording and go to delete it, and a design issue with the popup guide when watching a live show, and press the up(or down) arrow to go to another show.
I’ve only seen legacy getting kicked out of the app for the roku app. And that started with roku os 14. With one unified app are you expecting that remote connect and manual recordings to continue as features.
I have TCL TV’s and one ROKU TV. It did start happening after an update.
Unsure what is going to happen when we have a combined app.
Don’t care about remote connect, and have never used manual recording.
I forgot to mention previously that getting kicked out, is intermittent.
