I’m a little concerned about how existing agencies, that in some cases provide life-saving services, are being defunded or dismantled. One example is NOAA/NWS. I would think it’s only a matter of time before this happens at the FCC too. So, I’m not counting on anything OTA-related being the same in 2-3 years.
When you consider that government agencies often times have employment numbers that are orders of magnitude larger than revenue producing companies with similar workloads, the “reductions” might not be what you think. Also, we need to be careful not to equate one government agency that apparently “does nothing” (and needs to “go away”) and apply it to another that simply needs to be more efficient and try to say “they’re going to shut it all down”. Maybe not.
Respectfully, I see it differently. Maybe it’s not what you think. Entire programs could be cut across a range of research and services. Government agencies aren’t for-profit and efficiency is one of the trade-offs for broader service. …and which agency “does nothing”? FCC? NOAA? SBA?
Just saying be careful of acting on what “people are saying” vs what is actually happening.
Of course. Thanks.
