Samsung Smart TV won't reconize Tablo Gen 4 device

I just purchased a Tablo Gen 4 w/ 4 tuners. I’m a new user.

My Samsung Smart TV is about 5 years old. I down-loaded the Gen 4 App to the TV. I can’t get the TV to connect to the Tablo.

I have a 2nd TV and that connects and works. My android phone also connects and works.

I have moved the Tablo closer to the main TV.

I have deleted and re-installed the same darker colored Gen 4 app on my 2nd TV and my phone and it works on those two devices but not the main TV

The 2nd TV installed rather quickly but after trying for several times my main TV won’t connect. The apps does about a 10 second search for the Tablo and quits.

I have down loaded the correct app and the 2nd TV runs with it, is it possible the main TV is to old?

UPDATE - Using your troubleshooting section I may have found my issue. Your guide leads me to believe that the Tablo App I’m trying to use won’t work with a Samsung. I have downloaded the Latest App to my ROKU and it seems to have connected and is currently updating my channel guide, so I think it is working.

If there is a way to get the App to run directly from my Samsung main menu I would like to know the details please.

Look for the Samsung/Tizen app release thread. There it discuses how old a TV can be that will work with the app.

If all else fails, you can always put a separate streaming device on that TV. Just be aware that some Roku devices are having trouble with some TVs. You may want to try the Roku you have on that TV before you get one specifically for it.
