Perhaps. All just speculation. The interesting point I got is that there are at least 85.5 million households with a Roku device.

I remember when Roku was an internet radio streaming device. I have the M1000 but it’s no longer in service.

This was around 2005-2006, before TV streaming took off. They were one of the first big players and abandoned their internet radio devices shortly thereafter. The Roku Wikipedia page is a good source for modern Roku devices and specs, but leaves out the internet radio part.
I was in college with Anthony Wood. He was one of those “so so” (so I’m told) students, but creating business even while at school. You’d go over to his apartment, and he’d sit you down to solder Perfect Sound boards (Sunrize Industries) at his breakfast table. More here: Perfect Sound | Anthony’s Code History . Bobby (now Bob) Deen was my friend in college, and how I met Anthony. The original Perfect Sound digitizer was in a beige metal elongated case with metal pots (very typical skunkworks). I did end up going Amiga in college and got a 2nd Ed. Perfect Sound (the small beige one you see in that article).
