It appears that the overnight Guide update is going very slowly again today. You should still be able to use other menus other than Home like Library and Live.
That’s not an option with the Roku app. It just hangs on the “Connecting to your Tablo” screen.
Correct. I don’t have Roku but yesterday people said they had to reinstall to get to a screen which allowed them access to other screens. YMMV
But you can always wait until the Guide update completes to keep from blowing up anything else.
Same. Restarted Tablo, uninstalled and reinstalled app, just hangs. No option to go to offline mode. We had a good month of zero issues which is a record for us lol
Relying on the cloud is a massive issue. I program control systems for a living and whenever I see companies require a cloud connection to control their devices that are in the local network it’s usually a huge red flag that device is going to be problematic and I try to avoid having them in the system.
I agree but… how does Tablo Gen4 fit into that philosophy?
Because currently it’s requiring a connection to the cloud for these apps to work.
I understand that but you said…
Are there any alternatives? It’s their basic architecture.
Yup, me too. I have the exact same problem as I did on Saturday. Interestingly, both days I turned on one TV at 5:30am (New York time) and connected to the Tablo no trouble. When I tried again about 7:45 all I get is the sweeping screen waiting for Tablo to load. Same thing on three different TVs.
Yep, same as yesterday morning. The overnight gremlins are at it again. Hope they fix it soon. I am able to use my phone app for live and library so there is that…
For two days I can’t get past the opening “Tablo __ Connecting to you Tablo…” screen. This is not intermittent. No TV for two days.
Did yours not comeback yesterday afternoon after they fixed it?
Mine did, but failed again this morning.
Mine came back about 8:30 am yesterday. Still waiting today. I’m guessing the night shift are catching so ZZZZZs instead of fixing. When the 8:30 crew comes in it will probably be fixed again…
I was just saying that I try to avoid devices that rely on a cloud connection to operate. When I bought the Tablo I assumed it was a LAN connection to the apps and the stuff that required internet connectivity was secondary, but it seems to be the opposite of that.
Mine came back at 8:30 am again this morning… Guess I need to stay in bed longer…
Avionics or HVAC?
Mine seems to be back up and running. We will see what tomorrow morning brings.
High end residential.
Oh lots of custom stuff. ![]()
