[Resolved] Known Issue: Playback Problems via Roku

Yes, the 4 is full of glitches. I had almost no issues with the legacy unit.

This problem also started up today. Two different TVs with two different latest generation Roku’s. Besides using Roku, I am trying to watch the over the air NBC channel for Monday Night Football. It plays anywhere from 30 seconds to five minutes before going back to the main page.

I’m experiencing the same.

I’m having an issue where I am watching recordings on my Roku devices and they stop playing intermittently and often (for the past two days). This is happening on two Rokus, with no DTS, only Dolby on all settings that have DTS as an option. I’ve also unplugged and replugged power to the Tablo and the Rokus. The same recordings are working normally on an Android phone and Android tv device, so it seems to be Roku related, but I don’t know for sure. Anyone else having this issue, any suggestions? Thank you.

EDIT: Thank you for moving my post to this thread, I’m glad you’re working on this issue. Both of my Rokus are running software version 14.6.4 with build 9915. One is a Roku Streaming Stick 4K and the other is a Roku Express 4k+.

Sounds the ā€œAudio Compatibility Modeā€ work-around is no longer working around.

Same problem here, on 2 TVs, one playing NBC NFL football game live and the other playing the CW live. Tried to clear cache, restart Roku, reinstalled app, still no fix. Didn’t restart Tablo because I’m recording Big Brother on CBS. 4 tuner Tablo. Tablo any suggestions?

They workaround that is working for me is to pause the show for 30 seconds and then resume. I don’t know if this would work for recorded shows though.

Yet another user experiencing this same infuriating issue: Any content plays for from 5 seconds to a few minutes before stopping, falling back to the content screen.
Exact same failure occurs across multiple Roku devices and OS versions:

My system started glitching today. I’ve got a Roku model 4660X (Roku Ultra) running OS v15.0.

Thank you for this post! I can much more easily tolerate an acknowledged bug.

All of my Roku devices are exhibiting behavior where it will begin to play a live stream but will freeze and return to the main menu after a minute or so. My primary TV uses a Model 9102R - Roku Streambar running Software version 14.6.

Second TV has a Roku Ultra also running 14.6 on a Vizio TV and Vizio soundbar connected via optical cable.

The last one is a Roku LE running 14.6 with a Vizio Soundbar.

I attempted all the suggested fixes regarding audi0 settings on both the Roku and in the Tablo app and none seemed to fix the issue as of 9 pm. At the moment (11:45), I cannot duplicate issue. Perhaps it takes time for a setting to propagate. I will attempt this again tomorrow by changing one setting at a time and allowing some time to pass in an effort to replicate the issue and will update you if I find anything.

14.6 - so far this morning this issue hasn’t presented itself.

Was planning to buy one of these for my RV but I use all Roku. Seems like a real mess and not sure I should bother.
