Replacing 2-Tuner with 4-Tuner ... how do I move existing recordings to new Tablo

I’m replacing my current 2-tuner with a new 4-tuner Tablo, but keeping the same hard drive. What do I have to do to maintain my existing recordings and have the new Tablo recognize them?

Also, can I use the same name for the Tablo when I replace it (the old one will not be used anymore.

You have to contact Tablo directly to have them more the database from the old Tablo to the new Tablo. They can do this for you, open a Support Ticket. Do not format your USB HDD.
