I live in Seattle. My house is in a bad tv reception area. My son’s house is in a good tv reception area. So we set up a Tablo Quad at his house and use the remote connect feature to get the local channels at our house.
Is this going to keep working? Or is remote connect being sunsetted with the new 4th gen apps? Even if remote connect remains available is lack of support for legacy Tablo apps going to mean it eventually quits working by default.

Hi @hkading
This article may clarify.
I believe your OG Tablo Quad isn’t yet in danger of being phased out, but it’s probably going to happen eventually. We don’t know what resources Tablo needs in the background to keep this older system running, so we’d be speculating.
I can’t remember if Tablo said they were going to make remote viewing possible in the new, Gen4 unit. However, they DID say that they would eventually be combining all units into the new Gen4 app. Whether or not that will have remote viewing remains to be seen.
I think you’re safe for now, but…
Thanks. I have a question about if users do the eventual transfer from the OG app to the Gen4 app - if a user does this, what will happen to their recordings and existing scheduling?
