Remote access to 2nd Gen Tablo

I have called support and they say they are sending instructions but never do. I have submitted support requests with no answers. I have had remote access functional before with a Verizon Home Internet router but have upgraded to a Starlink internet system and now cannot get access. Appreciate any help I can get here.

The Starlink system is a modem/router but does not have port forwarding capabilities. So I have bypassed the router functionality of the Starlink and am using it only as an internet modem. I have it connected to a eero mesh system (same system that I used on the previous Verizon topology).

I go to the Tablo settings and select Remote Access. This give me the IP address of the Tablo and two ports that need to be manually configured. So I go into the eero gateway and select that IP and program in the two ports,

I think that is all I should need to do but it does not work. I must be missing something. I have rebooted the router and the Tablo but that doesn’t seem to help. The Tablo is currently connected to the eero router via an ethernet cable. I have also tried the above steps with the Tablo connected via wifi.

If anyone has info on this setup please send me any suggestions you might have.

Starlink modem in bypass router mode → eero gateway to mesh system → Tablo connected via ethernet cable

If I’m not mistaken, I had to do this with my new fiber service so I could use my internal Orbi mesh network. I think my solution was to get a static IP from the provider. They may have also set something that would allow me to use my router for the port forwarding - I don’t recall.

Check https://ipchicken.com to see if the external IP that shows on this page matches the one assigned to your router.

Mine is working. You could also call the Starlink support to see if it’s even possible.

Good luck.

Hi @pjk66 ,

We have an article that should help. However, for detailed instructions for port forwarding, you’d need to contact Starlink Support, as per @wysiwyggin 's suggestion.

Yes, @pjk66, I think you’re probably experiencing the Double NAT Problem. Read up on that and call your service provider to see if or how it can be resolved. I believe I used this documentation to solve my problem, too.
