I have a Tablo 4th Generation and am using the app on my LG OLED TV 2024. Sometimes, but not always, when I go to a recording that I have paused to go back to later, and I exit the Tablo app. the recording goes back to the beginning instead of resuming where I left off. If it is a long recording, like a football game, it takes a long time to get back where I was.
I discovered that all Tablo apps are not the same. I was using the Tablo app for my LG Smart TV. That was a mistake. I already owned a Roku Ultra that I was not using, because the LG already had the ones I was using (Plex, Prime Video). I plugged in my Roku and added the Tablo app, and voila! I could turn on subtitles while watching a recording. I could pause videos and go to another app, and restart the video where I left off. The LG Tablo app always went back to the beginning instead of where I left off.
If you are having trouble with the Tablo app on your smart TV, you should get yourself a Roku.
OK, I started a ticket for the LG app. But I also started using the Tablo app on my Roku Ultra, which solves that problem and a couple of others for me. I just don’t think their systems department puts a very high priority on versions of the Tablo app for smart TVs.
