Recording FAST channels with 4th-gen

For those with 4th-gen units what has been your experience recording FAST channels (recording quality, fast forwarding, thumbnails, etc.)?

Are the FAST channels displayed in something higher than 480i?

Yes, they tend to be 1080p, which is a nice step up from some of the same / similar channels that I get over the air.

I believe the recordings act the same as over the air recordings. You can fast-forward, rewind, etc. - and thumbnails do appear eventually.

I’m enjoying the “FAST” channels but there are a few things I don’t understand:

  1. This device has 2 tuners which I assumed were for ATSC 1.0 over the air reception. So why can’t I record several FAST programs and also one or more over the air programs? It appears this device can only record 2 programs at a time regardless if they are FAST or Over the AIR?

  2. Also if I am recording 2 FAST programs it appears I can’t use the over the air tuner to watch an over the air show. The FAST programs are via the internet so how does this stop over the air reception?
