Record off Tablo, play on different device?

Yes! People will come back to you to ask about using usb hdd or ssd.

I kept trying to figure out how a mpeg2 video with ac3 sound was going to play on a device that doesn’t support those formats.

I’m assuming you mean that the kindle can’t handle it?

Could also be an appletv.

Hello,

We don’t have a Kindel app. If you would like to know what’s compatible, this article has the answers: Tablo-Compatible Apps and Devices – Tablo .

You should be able to stream to any compatible device connected to your network.

^^^^ Thanks but it looks like I’m SOL. I was hoping to just playback something recorded that doesn’t involve an Internet connection. The way I’ve done with DVDs the last 15 or so years.Record it,finalize it then watch it on a portable DVD player. Could be copywrite infringement issues at play as well.

@tomkat, Can your current recorder record to a flash drive instead of to a DVD? Then maybe you could connect the flash drive to your Amazon Fire tablet and use the VLC player to play it.

No it’s an older model Toshiba,no USB port. I didn’t know they were even still making DVD recorders. Oh well even if I cant record something off Tablo and play it back on another device this Tablo is still a much better overall viewing experience than what I had.
