On the Legacy Tablo, we can search Primetime shows/movies based on channel with a list of the favorite channels showing up and selecting which channel you want to check. Each channel shows a thumbnail list of what’s on that channel during primetime over the next 14 days.
I can’t find anything similar on the Tablo 4th Gen. It’s how we check with shows to record on OTA channels each week. I’d like to request that feature be added to the new Tablo experience so we don’t have to scroll through 168 hours of the guide each week to check what’s playing over the next week on our favorite channels to see what we want to record. The primetime section makes it a quick and easy process.
Maybe this will help, but if you scroll all the way to the left-most column, then down to “Shows”, you’ll see “Networks”.. Click on “View All Networks”, and then you can pick whatever channel you want, and see all of the shows upcoming on that particular channel..
If I understand your question, that should do it…
Thank you for the suggestion. It is close, but it’s not quite what we’re hoping to achieve since it shows 24/7 shows for two weeks. For example, the prime time section for one of the two PBS channels that we watch has a list of 36 shows to scroll through on the old Tablo experience, which makes it fairly quick to scroll through and set up recordings for the shows that pique our interest.
On the new Tablo experience, I scrolled down the list on the same channel to count how many I would need to wade through and it was up to 148 shows by the time I got to the I’s, so to keep going through all the shows would be several hundred more, and every few blocks of thumbnails required a pause to allow more to load, so it’s not feasible. We would love to go to the new Gen4 Tablo, but we are holding off until we can find a primetime scrolling solution.
The other networks don’t seem to have as many shows to scroll through, but the two PBS networks are the problem, since they have so many shows that air over a two week period. We are likely a rare broadcast area since we have two PBS networks, but they both offer different shows so we like to look at their primetime options every two weeks to see if anything interesting is on. If we were just looking at the major networks, the Shows section on the new experience would be a good option to replace the primetime section on the old experience.
I agree the ABC’s on the side of the “All” show listing on the legacy Tablo is a nice feature that would make jump alphabetical listing to the 4th generation Tablo. Maybe they will take that as a request as they are thinking of updates to the new software.
On the legacy tablo, there was a section with “Upcoming Shows” that’s what I like to see on the 4th generation instead of checking each channel for upcoming shows
Are you talking upcoming premiering shows (i.e. new shows or new seasons of existing shows)?
If so, I 100% agree and it’s the one thing that keeps me going back to the legacy app right now since everything is spinning back up after the Olympics.
The Upcoming Network Premiers section of the 4th gen app just isn’t providing the same information.
