Like most buyers… I can’t wait to get my Tablo set-up. However, my 2TB drive will come a day before the Tablo. The 30-40 minute format time may figuratively-literally kill me! Is it possible to pre-format the drive so the Tablo doesn’t have to and I don’t have to be minor-ly inconvenienced by the wait?


I don’t suppose I could simply bring up an Ubuntu Live CD and give this an ext format with huge block sizes?

No, you need to let the Tablo format it.  That is a major part of the setup.
