Possibly a more affordable ATSC 3.0 tuner box

@zippy , so you’re saying, there won’t be individual program control dependent upon the Internet for “access”?

I can only repeat my understanding of what SD is saying about their gateway product.

A ATSC 3.0 stations broadcast doesn’t change it’s encription keys every show. So authentication certificates per channel can be obtained from the internet every so often - maybe every 7 days. Then proxy certificates can be pushed to the client every few days. this reduces the need to obtain certificates from the internet every show, etc.

But anyone can read the SD forum encryption thread for themselves.

Sorry, I vomitted a bit…

Why would you vommit or even care. You already said you would stick with ATSC 1.0 and not access ATSC 3.0

Sheesh… .I do care… maybe the only one who cares… you know?

You are “Praying for the utter failure of NexgenTV.”. That’s like praying for the demise of ATSC 1.0 OTA. carriage fees are declining and broadcaster revenue is down. carriage fees cover the OTA broadcasting costs.

Without a new or better business model why lose money with OTA.

I’m sorry, you’ll get no praise from me for supporting the a commitment to the detriment of users everywhere. I don’t play the “good ole boy” game (just go along, it’s a friendly occupation, we promise).

Has the FCC signaled that ATSC 3.0 is going away. Or is ATSC 3.0 morphing into what you want. Are you representing the social conscience or moral correctness of the downtrodden masses

Apparently representing the only conscience?
