Person with Tablo problems on Roku forum

Someone on the Roku forums is having Tablo problems. I pointed them here, but they just complained they saw nothing similar and are still continuing in the Roku forums. Maybe someone can look and maybe help out?

I haven’t heard of this one before. It sounds like they have rebooted the TV and the streaming device multiple times. If I were them, the next thing that I would try is to reboot the Tablo puck itself AND also reboot the network router. I find people are often reluctant to reboot the router and you might be surprised how many problems that fixes.

I’ll add that they may also want to clear the cache on their device(s). Unfortunately, according to this article on clearing cache on a Roku, it’s either reboot or uninstall/reinstall the TabloTV app. Bummer.

To be fair, to make something go away temporarily isn’t truly fixing it. If it’s over and done with, cool.
If only one device, of likely many several, has an issue, and rebooting your router appears to fix it… is it really your network and/or router at fault?

Valid point, but sometimes you get some sort of communication error between the Tablo and your network. Rebooting the router will sometimes fix those problems long term. I’ve seen it. I have also seen it solve some printer problems, so it is not just a Tablo thing.

thanks. i will try. i have already uninstalling tablo app and reinstalling.

thanks for all your responses. i may try to play with audio settings. just frustrating having to do system restart or unplug roku everyday to get in to tablo everyday and fix that black screen with channel info problem. once i am in, it is fine. considering purchasing onn streaming device also. people seems to have good success with tablo on this device.

The onn is very good and very stable with the Tablo. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it has no hard buttons on the remote for play/pause or FF/RW. You can do all those functions, but it requires extra button clicks. I found that frustrating. There are other android-based streaming devices that have those buttons.

interesting. ok. thanks for info. what streaming device you like for tablo? firestick?

I am a Roku user. I am happy with it, but I recognize that it has limitations. I got an onn during the OS14 debacle and it works very well, and I like the additional features, but the lack of basic buttons bugged the snot out of me.

I believe that some Fire devices and Chromecast devices (both of which run a version of Android) have play-control buttons.

Hey so I switched my roku 3941x2-Roku express 4k to the room/tv i was having problem with and it works great. My Roku 4200(problem one) is working fine after being moved to other room(maybe closer to router i dont know) Problem solved i guess. No onn needed. Just wanted to update. Thanks for assistance. Now if they can fix tablo LG app that wont fast forward or rewind which they are aware of.
