Almost 10 years since the first post asked. Any chance to adding parental controls, locks, or profiles?
This is a deal breaker for a lot of my friends due to the lack of controls. If we could lock what channels are available and pin protect the settings even that would be a start.
Pick a different DVR product that has the features you want.

I guess you don’t understand what “feature request” means. Just move on.
Sure I do. But with all the problems and other features missing from the gen 4 your children could be collecting social security before your request is implemented and working to your satisfaction.
Since this seems to be important to you why not pick a DVR product that already satisfies your needs.

Like I said, just move on. This is a feature request, not a request for not so helpful comments.
I think it’s a valid request, but “world of change” with regards to OG units and today’s very very very different Tablo company and their independently designed 4th gen unit.
That is “10 years” doesn’t matter today, as it was a full reset with the 4th gen unit.
But still, it’s a valid point. The idea of users and profiles could be decent feature add, though likely only something for 4th gen and later now. Have to look “forward” now.
