OTA Combined with Cable

Am I able to record cable from a receiver with a tablo?  There are cable options now, such as Cox Flex Watch in which you can get HBO, Starz and local channels for a really cheap price when bundled with internet.  But it does not come with a DVR except for a high $12/month charge.  I would like to record onto my hard drive so I could watch these shows whenever I wanted and wanted to see if I could do it through my four tuner tablo that I have.  Any feedback and other options are appreciated, thanks.

No, not possible. Only record from OTA.

Are there any options for what I am looking for?!

Maybe in the future? Read thread below - No ETA.

Your best bet is TiVo at the moment, buy one.

Its cheaper to pay for the cable DVR than it is for TIVO, TIVO sucks.  They charge way too much.  I have to pay $200 for the box then $15 a month, for the cable company I get the box for free and pay $12 a month.  So my best bet is really with the cable company, no?

Doesn’t TiVo give you the option to record cable or OTA, but not both?

I thought so too snowcat!  Plus, did I mention I hate TIVO?!?!

Very true.  But a cable box only gives you the ability to record the cable feed.

The only thing I think that could do both would be a Media PC.  I know it CAN do both with a TV tuner card AND a Cablecard, I just don’t know if you can do both at the same time.

However, you then have the headaches of dealing with another computer.
