I can play stored videos via Plex to Chromecast with sound, but anything coming through the Tablo channel has no sound.
No sound using Plex to Chromecast for me either. This includes recordings.
What device are you using?
Why not just use the normal Android tablet app or the Android web app and then cast that to your Chromecast?
The obvious advantage to Chromecast is being able to use my phone as a controller. I would love to use a Table Android app, but there is still no version for phones, only tablets,and I can’t justify getting a tablet just to control it. Plus my phone is always with me; we have three TVs, so would have to keep moving the tablet plus only one person at a time. As for web app, the PC is in another room; an ugly solution. And the web app does not work at all from the phone (can’t find the Tablo. I see a hint to find it on wifi, but my Tablo is wired).
There is a new web app for smartphones, both iOS and Android smartphones. It was released last week.

Because when I try to cast from the Android app, it buffers on start up and then resumes playing on the app (not the chromecast). It is like the chromecast never picks it up totally.
What are you looking at? I have the new Android app on a Nexus 5. Works great, but there is no Chromecast. It was officially deemed “we’re working on it.” If you mean web app thru the phone, I can access my.tablotv.com/livetv using Chrome on my phone, but it buffers forever, then only plays a second before bailing out, and there is no Chromecast offered.
Is there an outboard Chromecast utility I need, so some setup? Otherwise I don’t understand the suggestion.

From a Google search just found that there is a selectable function on the Chromecast app that casts whatever is on the phone screen to the Chromecast. So now casting all of the Tablo stuff with skip function, etc.
