I was looking in to upgrading to a 4th gen Tablo, but when I found out no support for Windows 11 PC, I quickly decided it is a no go. Also will not be updating my legacy to the new 4th firmware.
Almost 50% of our use here in our home is on PC’s. Amazing a company would come out with an “updated” product that has LESS features.
I just installed Bluestacks X on my Windows 11 pro Lenovo laptop and Tablo 4 works fine. Agree 4Gen should be native app, and eventually Tablo will provide it, but this works for me.
See if anything like this is on Windows, I don’t use Windows. My Mac Studio has that new iPhone mirroring feature in Mac Sequoia. Anything on my iPhone I can use on my Mac now. I can use the Tablo app and everything else fine.
I know some high end Samsung phones can do this in Win 11, forget what it was called, but only a handful pf phones can do it.
Bluestacks? LOL, why should I have to use third party software for a product that SHOULD have native PC support. The legacy unit works great on a PC, I am still amazed that they would even try to use the term “improved” when they actually have downgraded the product. 4th Gen is a no for me.
Why do you think Windows has the native MPEG2 support to work with a 4th gen Tablo? The legacy unit transcodes, which is why it works on every platform.
I get not using a M$ account, but what was wrong with the suggestion @KimchiGUN made? Blue Stacks works great on PC and you can use Google’s own Android Studio on PC or Mac.
Loading a program to run another operating system to run ONE app is crazy to me. My temp solution was to buy a $20 ONN/walmart streaming box (android TV OS), and connecting it to another port on my pc monitor to watch my Tablo stuff. Much simpler than bluestacks, etc.
