New user Tablo Gen 4. Can't find way to look at program and time listing? Then record by channel # & time slot?

HI Folks, new to Tablo Gen 4, tried an earlier version of Tablo and it wasn’t useful to me. I am attempting to see the live tv schedule navigate to a channel # and time slot, and then record that time slot/channel combination 5 days a week, or every day 2 weeks, whatever. This show is not getting logged into the database but appears every day at that time slot 5x per week. Am I missing something, or just not there? Maybe reason the app rates 2* of 5 on AMZ Fire stick? Thanks, AtlEng

There is no real manual recording like that, you would probably need to make a series recording to record all, then set it to keep at most 5 so it does just waste space an only keeps 1 week at a time. Or just select them 1 by 1 each week on the couple days you might want it.

It is probably a feature that is coming, just not sure how high up on the list as I am not even sure what I would want to record doing what you wanted.

It sounds like the problem you are having is because the program you want to record is not appearing in the guide. Is that correct? Are you seeing the wrong program listed, or is it just blank?

One thing you could try is experiment with changing the ZIP code in your settings in the Tablo. It is possible that you will get a more acurate guide so you can record your show… but no guarantee.

Thanks RK & KGB .
I was able to figure out how to access my channel list and the 2 week schedule. Shows that are loaded with some kind of ID from the broadcaster can be scheduled to record. If there is no program specific name/ID loaded in the schedule, then that show cannot be recorded. Lots of content from local broadcasters here in our ATL metro fall in that category: play in that slot every day M-F or each week but are not ID’d in whatever fashion screened by Tablo. Still a pretty useful device. The new one plays live in a very viewable quality without skips and drags, which my previous gens did not do. We’ll see, thanks for the input. AtlEng

Is this Tablo pretty new to you? I did find that mine kinda had to “settle in.” Some things, like the full program guide, took a couple of days, maybe even a week or more, to work at their best.

The use case I have for it is as a workaround for lack of thumbnails during a recording. (The thumbnails you see when you do FF/RW.)

These thumbnails appear to get generated after a recording completes, so about 5 minutes after the show you can skip forward/backward and see what’s going on. But if you’re watching the start of a program before it’s ended, it’s just more difficult.

The workaround I used for this in the 3rd gen Tablo was to break up the recording. So for the news from 7-9:00 I break it up into 30 minute recordings. Then by 7:35 I can watch the 7:00 segment with working thumbnails to skip both commercials and the segments I’m not interested in.
