New To Tablo Community

I am sort of new to Tablo. I’ve been lurking here for the last week or so soaking up some good information.

I purchased a Tablo Quad Wi-Fi refurb in 2022. Due to job issues at the time I could not incur the subscriber fees. I also wanted to place the unit in my office near my router and needed to make a cable run that never got done.

After sitting on the shelf for four years, I dug it out last week along a 2TB (int. drive) and installed it using a CAT6 cable to connect it in my living room. It went through a big update and has been working fairly well except for two times that it seems to have hung up and I did a soft reset That worked fine.

I live in the DFW Texas area and my scan came back with 164 total channels. My list of selected channels is 88.

I am using the current Tablo app on my phone and my Nvidia Shield. It seems to work fairly well and is decent for scheduling recordings and channel surfing. I understand that the legacy app was preferred by many people, but since I have no experience with it I have no reference .

So far, I’m very much enjoying using my legacy Quad Wi-Fi.

My setup:

Tablo Quad Wi-Fi (refurbished) 2022

Nvidia Shield Gamer 16gb 2019

Panasonic TC-P58S1 1080p Plasma 2011

Logitech Harmony Elite Remote

I assume you eventually got the firmware to the 2.2.60 level and registered the unit so that the gen 4 apps(blue label) can access it. There is no reason why you can’t also use the legacy app(s)(white label).

Zowie! You must be in the Mid-Cities.

I’m at Midway Road and Northwest Highway in Dallas and only get 135 channels. About 58 after I hide the unwanted stuff.
