NEW - Tablo Samsung TIZEN App (4th Gen) Update (v. 1.6.0)

@NorB

It may be handy to see if OTA channels come through in a channel scan.

If they do not come up, it’s possible the issue is with your TV antenna or the connection.

It has now been a few months since the last release, and we are still stuck with a very buggy version of Tablo on Samsung TVs, that frequently locks up. I am getting tired of unplugging my TV to reboot it to get Tablo working again. Are there new versions in the works?

Why not switch to a low-cost Roku or FireTV Stick?

One thing that works most of the time for me (but not always) when I have an app misbehaving or locked up is to press and hold the back button. This forces the app to close and unload.

@wysiwyggin, Just simple convenience. All the rest of the apps on my Samsung TVs work great, so I can control everything with one remote, and no source changing. Ultimately I would like the Tablo app to work just as well, so I don’t need to add a separate set-top-box to each TV just for Tablo. Isn’t that the point of Tablo’s design, to not need a set-top-box at each tv?

@jwhitlow, Thank you for the tip, I will give that a try.

Sorry you’re running into that @Bret_Thompson ,

Would you consider reaching out to our technical support team? They may be able to help.

@TabloTV, thanks but most of the bugs that I have reported here, and other related threads in this forum were first reported to support long ago, but they could not help since they are bugs in the software.

Sorry to say, its probably your TV that is the problem as I just bought a 2025 Samsung with the Tizen OS and it is solid, waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy better than the Android app by far and almost as fast as the AppleTV app.

My older Samsung with Tizen sucked as it was old and slow. Why many say to not use SmartTV’s for apps, they only last a few years.

FWIW, I do have AppleTv 4k devices on ALL my TV’s as TV’s are not good streaming devices and slow down over time.
