NEW - Tablo iOS App Update (v. 1.8.0)

Am I missing something or has the “Recent” Recordings view vanished with this update on iOS 13? Really, what I used the iOS app for the most, checking if something else had recorded properly w/o stopping what I was doing on the AppleTV…

Thanks Nilex :+1:At least it isn’t just me. Hope the update to fix is out soon.

Hey folks - the Tablo iPad app (version 1.8.0) is also now on the way.

Anyone else noticed the disappearance of the series name when resolving conflicts?

Used to get the name of the series, episode number, the channel and time, and the episode description. Now with the iOS 13 and the new apps the series name has disappeared. I can usually figure it out from the episode description but having the series name obviously made it a lot easier.

I’m seeing this on the iPhone and iPad.

Maybe a screenshot of the issue would help?

I can’t show the ‘before’ since I’ve already upgraded my devices.

But here is an ‘after’ image. It shows the display after clicking ‘resolve conflict’.

Note that the original series isn’t indicated with the original show I’m working on. It also doesn’t show the series for the conflicting show, even if I select it to see the details.

I would upload a photo but as a new user I seem to have hit my photo limit.

Ok so it won’t show the tv show name? Just the episode name?

Yes, that’s correct. Not a big deal if you are just recording a few shows. But if you are recording several, and they are prioritized, this information becomes important.

It must be a bug. The screenshot below is from iOS 12 on an iPhone XS Max. Your screenshot shows the episode name instead of tv show name. On iOS 12, it was only tv show name and episode number (does not show episode name).

So now that the iOS app loads in real time (like the Roku app) and now works with Tablo Connect, will remote viewing also soon be coming to the Roku app?

Thanks!

@theuser86 We went with a hybrid approach for the iOS app right now. There is no synch, but Tablo Connect still relies on the older API.

Hopefully we’ll finally be able to get everything for Tablo Connect added to the new API in 2020.

Any ETA on the Recent Recordings tab returning the the iOS app?

This has really been a real downgrade to the iOS app in terms of how I and my family uses our Tablo Quad? Hope to see it back soon!

Happy New Year!

Is there a way to post a video to the forums?

Another weird bug in the iOS 13 version of the app. After you hit delete on an episode, it disappears and then re-appears about 5-6 times over about 20 seconds before it is finally deleted. Essentially it flashes in and out on the screen, almost seizure inducing. I took a video of the iPhone screen but can’t seem to post it.

Here’s a link to it.

Any luck with viewing the video of weird behaviour in the iOS app?

Thanks!

We did manage to view it - we’re seeing if we can reproduce and track this down now!

I don’t know what is causing it. But it looks like the iOS app is constantly refreshing the list of episodes while the selected episode is being deleted. So the episode pops in and out while it being deleted and then finally when it is deleted it disappears.

Seeing this as well on my iPhone 8 running iOS 13 and Tablo iOS 1.8.0 app.

Hadn’t been using the app as much since the Recent Recordings tab went missing, so had not noticed this odd behavior before.

I spent more time using the iOS 13 app today and it seems to be an issue when a show has multiple seasons recorded.

Deleting an episode from a show with only 1 season seemed to work fine.
