No, sadly, they said that older recordings that failed still won’t work. New recordings and live viewing should be okay.
I have a mix of old and new Roku in my house, some work just fine, some are waiting for the update. What I haven’t gotten a clear answer on is ‘will the older recordings continue to work on those Roku which are working now?’ I guess we will see…
I agree 100% with the previous post. I don’t want Tablo adding any channels to my list. My guide only displays OTA channels that I want to watch. I don’t want any streaming channels being added by Tablo and forcing me to delete them from my guide. IF streaming channel are not available - just display a message when the user selects it and they can delete it from their guide. There are much better ways to notify users of new streaming channels.
I have the updated app (I assume as it shows that I’m up to date). I also have the latest firmware on my 2 tuner and 4 tuner units. What I am seeing in the live guide is a hazy white overlay on the bottom two rows of the guide. This is happening on two TVs both of which are native 1080P (non-4k). The Roku is set to 1080P (auto) on both. The only way to eliminate the whitish section of the guide is to change to 720P which messes up everything else. Any suggestions are to how to get this resolved?
Is there a way to force an upgrade to 2.2.54. My system is still on .52 and I would really like the upgrade that is rolling out. If I go into settings and select ‘Check for Firmware Update’ it tells me that I am updated to the latest version…but it’s not.
You can force a check to see if there’s new firmware, like you did, but when it’s available for your Tablo, no.
Tablo randomizes the individual timing of their firmware rollouts.
Frustrating, yes.
I kinda get it… If too many users tried to update all at once it would likely overwhelm their servers. Still, as a really active Tablo user, it would be nice to be able to force it.
They’re not even rolling it out to beta testers first… which makes it hard to test the last beta against the public version. It’s a weird system. That’s the nicest thing I can say about it.
When I mentioned this to Tablo Support in the past, they responded with:
the production release is the same as the last beta release.
Unless they make additional updates in between, which they do without mentioning it, sometimes.
Which is pretty much what they said in the beta thread. During the last few beta updates the Tablos never upgraded to the public version. This time is different – the one on beta actually upgraded to public.
I try to keep one on public and one on beta. It’s hard to test them otherwise.
Tablo auto-adding streaming channels to my channel guide is already a PITA. Why should I have to keep undoing guide changes that I did not ask for? This is a bad functionality choice by Tablo. Please let us turn this unrequested “feature” off!
I just installed the Tablo Update today. Not sure when it was avaiabile since I was not using the Tablo/Roku for watching recorded shows. Been using phone. When I tried it today it says UPDATE avaiabile. Yeah. It took a good long time to load. It was not working at first, called Tablo. Got through quickly. A check of my software level both Tablo and Roku I was told it will start working. This evening I tried again. IT WORKS, able to watch LIVE and recorded shows with AUDIO. Thank you for Tablo for fixing this. Not sure how much Roku cooperated, but glad the two companies could get it working…
(Not sure what all the other crying is about, but this is good for me. Yes it is free schedule, no fee recording.)
PS a similar issue with my Channel Master Stream + when Google guide was no longer supported by Google crippled the DVR. You can still use it but with guide more than a what the station transmit for the next few hours. These companies, hardware, software Apps, rely on other companies for services or software. When they change something it really throws a monkey wrench into the works.
The update was available when I got up this morning and with fear and trepidation I said yes. Update only took a minute or two to download and install. At first it looked like it was going to be a trouble free event but the blue light/LED was blinking and I couldn’t view anything live although the TV Guide did come up. A simple repowering of the Tablo restored complete functionality and everything is working fine let’s hope this update solves most of our problems. I thank the Tablo team for working so hard on this I know it wasn’t easy as a lot of pieces have to fit together to make it all work. Even with all of the problems over the past year with the 4th gen Tablo I still think it is good value for the small amount of money invested.
I had already update to the new and was surprised to find another alert this morning. Did the update and was pleasantly surprised to see a local 24 hour FAST streaming news channel and nicely integrated into the guide. Nice. And seems snappier and more responsive. Giving credit where credit is now due.
I am having the same issue my TV is 1080P not 4K. I have a 4th gen 2ch Tablo (FW 2.2.52 or 2.2.54 made no difference). I have a Roku Ultra 4802X. The issue showed when Roku updated to 14.1.4.
