I have the exact same problem for weeks now, was wondering what streaming device you are using. I am using A Roku Ultra the only good news i have had is that since the Tablo Roku app update v.8.0.500 in Feb. the problem of being kicked out Tablo app while watching OTA channels is fixed. When i head of this new firmware release was hoping it would fix the spinining circle when deleting recordings or moving around in app. I have not installed the new firmware yet, but hear Roku is supposed to come out with an update to Tablo app on there end (don’t hold your breath) it seems Tablo still has a lot of glitches to work out, I think Tablo would be great if it worked as advertised just hope if they come out with a new improved Tablo DVR they give a credit for those of us who have a Gen. 4, I guess I will update the firmware and hope for the best.
I also have a Roku Ultra (2). We never really were affected by the getting kicked out of watching live OTA as we never use Tablo for that. On the rare occasion we would actually watch live TV we have always used the TV’s tuners. And I can’t remember the last time we did that. Everything we watch, is recorded.
Will this fix the frequent app crashes? When will the ability to set recordings and stream shows when away from home like the older Tablos did? I’ve had nothing but issues with Gen4, really regretting upgrading it now.
Hi folks - Firmware 2.2.50 is now available for all users.
You should see the update notification today or tomorrow but if you’d like to process the update immediately you can go to SETTINGS > ABOUT > CHECK FOR FIRMWARE UPDATE.
This Firmware update did nothing to fix app crashes and freezing for me. I’m using FireTV stick 4K 1st gen.
I think that is a FireStick fix that needs to happen and probably coming down the pipeline.
I hope you are right and it is coming in the future but that remains to be seen. There have been a number of app and firmware fixes released since the Tablo 4th gen was sold and none of them fixed any of the issues I am having with freezing and reboots.
So if I am a bit skeptical you can possibly see why.
No reason to be skeptical, but you have all the reason to be impatient. I get it.
They will not let the firestick/tv go the wayside. They have a large portion of the streaming device world, along with Roku, and AppleTV.
Still getting random freezes and crashes. Roku app needs work.
I have 7 Roku devices on the newest Tablo Firmware and Roku APP and have had no issues since all this update went through.
If you create a new post in the support section, we all can help you figure out what the issue? Most of the time it’s weak wireless signal or weak RF signal coming from the antenna.
Anyone know if this update will fix the Roku issue of locking up after 5 minutes???i
Roku itself locking up, or the Tablo Roku App locking up?
I’m hopeful we will see firmware for the older Tablos soon. I’d like to try the new apps.
I believe this is a 2.2.50 FW issue, but cannot remember if this occurred with 2.2.49 beta as well.
When I switch between Tablo 4th gen devices at certain times, I get a blue screen with an authentication error. Sometimes I have to press retry a couple times before I have access to my Tablo.
The way to duplicate this seems to be switching devices when a show is finishing recording. Just now’s example: Switching to second Tablo shortly after 16:00 (16:00:43?) I received this error message. I waited about 30 seconds before pressing retry. I know that at least one recording ended at 16:00.
This is not a new error. I have seen this several times throughout the last few weeks.
