I was very excited to see the upgraded interface in the new Tablo App. I was pretty disappointed when I found out that I would need a new device to use the new app. Any word on when they might update the app to work with legacy tuners? I have a quad-tuner and a big hard drive. I hate to see that go to waste.
It’s possible that a future firmware for OG devices will offer up the newer UI (though maybe some differences). However, you will lose Tablo Connect (if that was interesting to you).
They have said you’ll have the option to use legacy firmware or the new firmware (when available).
But because there are differences, even if the provide the ability to go “back and forth”, you’ll lose recordings and settings you have.
